The Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr. Mike Omeri has charged the youth to unleash their full potentials to help drive the nation’s economy to consolidate gains made by the Transformation Agenda of the President Jonathan’s administration.
This call was made when NOA DG received in audience members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), an umbrella body of the Nigerian youth, led by its new president, Yakubu Shendam.
Omeri told the youths to see the country as a place where its growth and development would solely be driven by the energy of the youth, adding that he shared the notion that “youth are not just leaders of tomorrow, but leaders of today.”
He appealed to them to engage in lawful activities devoid of violence, cultism, exam malpractice and thuggery while assuring them of the effort of the present administration to enhance enabling environment to enable businesses to thrive and create job opportunities.
“Nigerian youths must be ready to uplift the well being of the country. Show what is wrong and do what is right. Do what will do the nation well,” Omeri continued.
He further urged the youth to exercise patience “as the Jonathan’s administration is working hard to create more jobs while saying they should stay focused.
Speaking earlier, the NYCN president, Shendam commended Omeri for “taking NOA to a greater height” by its numerous activities, adding that their mission was to assist the administration consolidates the achievements of Transformation Agenda and help the Agency spread its messages.
