Director General of the Agency, Mr. Mike Omeri who made the call in a statement released by his office in Abuja also charged the youth to reject the temptation to be swayed by inciting statements and half-truths that have no historical basis or progressive intention.
Reacting to recent comments by influential Nigerians including politicians, Omeri said that the country is currently passing through a necessary and empirical phase towards achieving its full democratic aspiration and will therefore require all hands on the deck irrespective of political persuasions, religious beliefs or ideological positions, adding- that Nigerians should not be misled by incomplete stories told by elders.
In his words: “The unity of Nigerians creates greatness and a realistic feeling of strength which is currently helping to unite citizens to confront our challenges and this must be sustained in order to reduce perceived tension and generate goodwill and hope among Nigerians”
He advised aggrieved citizens to take time to reflect on the labours of our heroes Past and energizing flavor of our country’s colours of green, white and green.
