As political parties and candidates make final push for votes in Saturday’s local government election in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) the National Orientation Agency (NOA) has invited representatives of political parties and all the candidates to an orientation meeting on Wednesday.
The meeting scheduled for the Bwari Area Council Hall, Bwari, Abuja will also be addressed by representatives of security agencies especially the Police and Department of state Security.
Director General of NOA , Mike Omeri said the meeting will provide a forum to highlight the need for peace and security during the polls saying it is in that atmosphere that democracy can thrive.
He said political parties have a vital role in mobilizing the people to participate in the election, however, urging them to ensure that it engenders a good environment for massive turnout of the people for the election.
He commended the FCT administration and the security agencies for ensuring free and fair campaigns so far.
